iFootage Introduces the Anglerfish PL1-80C and PL1-80BN: “Sun Spectrum” in a Panel Low blue panel lights with extra power

iFootage unveiled two new additions to its lineup of portable lighting solutions – the Anglerfish PL1-80C and PL1-80BN light panels. These compact lighting fixtures integrate what the company calls “Sun Spectrum” technology which reduces the blue spike and improves color accuracy as well as other advances which also improve the output of the panels.

Anglerfish PL1-80C

The Anglerfish PL1-80C is an RGBWW with improved brightness in each RGB color (up to 40W) and an exceptional total brightness with 80 high-quality LEDs, producing an impressive output of close to 7200Lux at 1m. This level of brightness enables users to effectively light up even the darkest environments, capturing clear and vibrant shots. Additionally, the PL1-80C features an adjustable color temperature range of 2700K to 10,000K, allowing photographers and videographers to achieve the desired lighting conditions for different settings.

Anglerfish PL1-80BN

The Anglerfish PL1-80BN, a sibling model to the PL1-80C, provides photographers and videographers with the flexibility of bi-color lighting. It combines warm and cool LED beads to create a broad color temperature range of 2700K to 6500K. This feature allows users to adapt the lighting to suit the specific mood and atmosphere of their scenes with ease. It can output up to 7350Lux at 1m and weighs in at 2.6kg/5.7lbs (just like the PL1-80C model).

Both lights boost a very high color accuracy with an SSI of 90 (for the bi-color version) and 87 (for the RGB unit).

Intuitive Control and Flexibility

The Anglerfish PL1-80C and PL1-80BN are equipped with built-in LCD panels, enabling users to easily adjust settings such as brightness, color temperature, and power output. The intuitive controls make it convenient for photographers and videographers to fine-tune the lighting to their exact specifications. Additionally, the lights can be wirelessly controlled using a dedicated smartphone app, providing further flexibility and ease of use.

The lights have 10 light effects and can be controlled using DMX through a USB-C cable (this is the first time we are seeing such an option on a light panel).

Power Options

Both models offer the versatility of AC power and a V-mount battery option. Interestingly for such a high-power light, there is also an option to power it via a 100W USB-C PD (you will need a capable USB-C PD source though).

The lights are rated for 28dB of noise which should be basically silent in operation.

Accessories

iFootage offers several optional accessories for both lights including a v-mount battery, grid, and barn doors.

Pricing and Availability

The Anglerfish PL1-80C is available for purchase on the iFootage website at a price of $280. The Anglerfish PL1-80BN is also available on the iFootage website, priced at $330. Both lights should be available starting from June 2023.
