Color Theory In Photography

In this video photographer Ted Forbes explores color theory as one of the most important aspects of the art of photography. Forbes believes that If you’re interested in making fantastic images that stand out, using color properly is a something you’ll need to get a handle on. The relationship between photographers and color theory is particularly interesting in that the approach to color has changed entirely over the history of making photographs and this is another topics covered by Forbes in this video.

During the video Forbes refers to a very useful website called Adobe Kuler (don’t ask us why this isn’t “Adobe color”). The site lets you explore analogous colors, monochromatic, color triad and much more – its free and very easy to use and can give you some good ideas about colors combinations (good for photography but also for web design and much more).
