First Look: Lastolite Halo Compact Reflector (Photokina 2018)

During Photokina 2018 we had a chance to check out the Lastolite booth and found a little product that seemed to slip under almost everybody’s noses but it might actually be very useful – it is called the Lastolite Halo Compact Reflector you might think of it as re-inventing the collapsible reflector.

During Photokina Mark from Lastolite demonstrated to us how the new Halo Compact Reflector works – basically this is a very small package in the shape of a tube (think a tiny folding umbrella shape) which opens up to about 82cm / 32″ wide reflector/diffuser. This is done by connecting a few pieces of the frame in a circular shape and attaching fabric to it in a very simple way which takes just a few seconds as you can see in the video.

The Lastolite Halo Compact Reflector

This is a pretty straightforward product but if you don’t have room for a regular collapsible reflector in your bag – the Halo Compact Reflector can actually be very useful.

The price when this unit will reach the market in the near future will be around $70.
