Our friend and colleague photographer Matthew Gore (from lightandmatter) juts published another one of his excellent in-depth head to head video comparisons. This time he is looking at two fast prime lenses – the Canon 35mm f/1.4L USM and the new Sigma 35mm f/1.4 (part of the new Sigma ART series). So how does the Sigma fair against the best of what Canon has to offer in terms of image quality, build quality and of course focusing speed and accuracy? Check out Gore’s video and find out.
On one thing there is no dispute – the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM is considerably cheaper than the Canon – going for around $900 (at B&H) compared to the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM which is currently selling for almost $1480 (also at B&H).
We also encourage you to take a look at Matthew Gore’s other lens comparisons and videos and we are waiting eagerly for his next one.
