The Big DSLR External Sound Recorder Comparison

This video review by DeeJay Scharton from dslrfilmnoob takes a looks at a 4 XLR adapters/units for DSLR sound recording.

Scharton Looks at audio 4 units:

  • Azden FMX-DSLR – $269 on Amazon.
  • Beachtek DXA-SLR – $269 on Amazon.
  • Juicedlink RM333 Riggy – $400 at Amazon.
  • Tascam DR-60D –  $195 at B&H.

All these units are popular options when you need to adapt XLR audio to your DSLR camera. We have already looked several times on the Tascam DR-60D which might be the least expensive of the 4 units but buth Scharton and us think that it is the most versatile and capable of the 4 units. Scharton didn’t look here at the 2 Zoom units – the H5 and H6 which we have covered here and are worth looking at as well.
