American photographer Saul Leiter died last year at the age of 89. The above is a look at a trailer for the documentary about his life entitled “In No Great Hurry – 13 Lessons in Life with Saul Leiter” by Tomas Leach.
Leiter worked as a street photographer in the time of some of the greatest American photographers including Diane Arbus and Richard Avedon. Although some of his commercial works were published in Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire, he was always more interested in capturing moments of life.
Leach who followed Leiter for many months while preparing the documentary believes that “He’ll be generally recognized as one of the great photographers of the 20th century soon enough”. On a recent article on Wired magazine Pete Brook interviewed Leach asking him about what led him to pursue this unique documentary and the image of the old NY photographer.
