LensVid Talk 44: IBC 2025 Roundup — Part 2 IBC 2025 Roundup Godox, Aputure, Pixboom and more

In this edition of LensVid Talk (Episode 44), we continue our look at IBC 2025 and discuss a large number of manufacturers of new lighting and accessories with a few interesting surprises. Below is a roundup of the products we discussed, organized by maker, with specifications, features, and pricing notes.

IBC 2025 Roundup Part 2

In part one of our IBC 2025 roundup, we explored many of the new cameras and lenses announced at IBC this year. In this part, we will explore many of the interesting accessories we found at the show this year.

Ready Rig

The Ready Rig Nimbus is a body-worn support system designed to redistribute the weight of camera and gimbal setups from the operator’s arms and shoulders to their hips and core, thus extending shooting stamina and reducing fatigue.

The system, which features telescopic carbon fiber support arms and a vest, offers a load capacity range of 1 to 40 pounds (18.1 kg). Its primary components—including the Nimbus Crossbar and the VEGA v2 Upgrade—work together to provide enhanced vertical axis stabilization, minimizing the bounce motion often associated with an operator’s walking gait, while offering an effective 55-inch (140 cm) boom range for dynamic movements. The Nimbus Crossbar also includes multiple 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads for accessory mounting, such as external monitors, allowing the system to maintain a slim, agile profile suitable for use in tight spaces.

Pricing for the Ready Rig Nimbus Full Kit (RR-NBK) is typically around $5,500.

The SmallRig Cine Expansion Kit V3.0, developed in collaboration with cinematographer Peter Fauland as part of the DreamRig program, is an integrated camera cage and accessory solution designed to transform mirrorless cameras into professional cinema-style production cameras. Specifically targeting platforms like the FUJIFILM X-H2/X-H2S and the SONY FX3/FX30, the kit consolidates critical components such as a robust cage, a dedicated top handle with record/stop buttons, high-capacity V-mount battery compatibility, and, most importantly, a professional PL-mount lens adapter. Version 3.0 represents a series of iterative design modifications, focusing on enhanced rigidity and modularity, giving filmmakers the ability to use high-end cinema lenses and achieve longer run-times with a smaller camera body.

Sirui

The Sirui Aurora 35mm F1.4 is a surprisingly affordable, yet optically sophisticated, full-frame autofocus prime lens that joins Sirui’s growing lineup of fast mirrorless glass. Designed for modern hybrid shooters, the lens features a wide f/1.4 aperture for excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field, an STM motor for fast and quiet autofocus, and a premium metal build that is lightweight for its class (around 490g). Key physical features include a manual aperture ring with a handy click ON/OFF switch for smooth, stepless iris adjustments during video work, an AF/MF switch, an FN (function) button, and a USB-C port for easy firmware updates. Available for popular mirrorless mounts including Sony E, Nikon Z, L-Mount, and Fujifilm X-mount, the 35mm f/1.4 aims to be a “game-changer” that provides the quality of higher-end primes at a fraction of the cost ($550 USD).

The Sirui IronStar 1.5X T1.9 Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens Series is a dedicated set of cine lenses (35mm, 45mm, and 60mm) engineered to deliver the classic cinematic widescreen look on full-frame cameras. These manual-focus lenses feature a constant 1.5x squeeze ratio, which results in a super-wide 2.66:1 aspect ratio when shooting in 16:9 mode, complete with signature oval bokeh and horizontal lens flares. Built with cinema workflows in mind, the IronStar series includes standard 0.8 MOD gears for focus and iris, a long 270° focus throw for precise adjustments, near-zero focus breathing, and a professional interchangeable mount system that natively supports both ARRI PL and Canon EF. Filmmakers can choose between two distinct aesthetic versions for the lenses: Blue Flare for the traditional sci-fi look or Neutral Flare for a more natural yet still stylized light streak, providing high-end anamorphic character in an accessible $1,200 per lens (around $3600 for a set of 3).

Osee

Osee showcased its new GoStream Duet 8 ISO, an 8-channel video switcher engineered for professional multi-camera live productions. Its core function is to seamlessly blend and manage diverse video signals into a single broadcast output, recording all inputs independently for post-production flexibility.

The switcher is equipped with 8 channels (4XHDMI/4XSDI) with 2X XLR, advanced audio features (EQ, Low Cut (High-pass filter), Noise Gate, Compressor, Limiter), direct to social (YT/ Facebook, Twitch, etc.), with vertical options, and sells for only $800.

Osee-GoStream-Duet-8-ISOOsee also showcased a new version of its large production monitor – The Osee Mega 22S4 is a specialized Field Production Monitor, with a 21.5-inch IPS Panel with a Full HD resolution, delivering 10-bit color depth and a 1:1100 contrast ratio and 1500 nits of brightness.

Besides its built-in Color Self-Calibration function and comprehensive assist tools such as Waveform, Vectorscope, False Color, and Focus Peaking, the new version has one super interesting feature – the ability to display multiple signals in different ways, including 3 feeds vertically side by side (useful for all those social video productions).

The Osee Mega 22S4 is not out yet, but the original Osee Mega 22S sells for $1340.

NiSi

At IBC 2025, NISI introduced a new line from its Athena series called the Athena Tuned Glow. These lenses are a special, limited edition variant of the full-frame Athena Prime Cinema Lens line, distinguished by an intentionally modified optical construction designed for a unique cinematic aesthetic. While the lenses retain the high-quality, modern mechanical features of the original Athena primes—such as uniform size, minimal focus breathing, 0.8 pitch gears, 300 degree focus rotation, and the same set of focal lengths (14mm T2.4, 25mm T1.9, 35mm T1.9, 50mm T1.9, 85mm T1.9)—their optical signature is distinctly vintage-inspired.

This Tuned Glow look is achieved through different coatings and redesigned internal elements that result in lower overall contrast, controlled blooming highlights for a softer, film-like appearance, and a softer, more rounded bokeh. The specialized coatings also contribute to distinctive, characterful flares, often presenting with a subtle blue or purple hue. These limited edition sets, featuring a distinctive silver barrel finish, are designed for filmmakers who desire a blend of modern precision with a nostalgic visual texture. The 5-lens set is priced to retail for approximately $6,798 (starting in November 2025).

CameTV and Yinchem (and now Voltrable)

Came TV and its sister company Yinchem showcased a number of products, including the interesting upcoming folding YC-C2V dual V-mount compact USB-C charger. Another product showcased at the booth from yet another sister company called voltrable is the TR-5000, a portable high-capacity 500Whr battery pack selling for just $3200.

Godox

At the show, Godox showcased an upcoming high-power COB LED called the Palette SL600 R7 (this might not be the final product name). This upcoming model is Godox’s answer to the Aputure BLAIR and Nanlux Nebula C8 multi-color (apparently 7) colors LED emitters in a single COB. There was also a really nice-looking mini tube light called LC500 AIR Hard, which separates the battery and control from the handle, and new rigid panels called UP150R that can be stacked (all seem to be prototypes).

IBE Optics

An interesting surprise for us at the show was the German IB/E Raptor Scope – a highly specialized, professional cinema periscope-style lens system engineered to capture unique, hyper-detailed perspectives that traditional lenses cannot achieve. As the successor to the T-Rex, this high-end optical tool from IB/E Optics is prized for its ability to maintain exceptional sharpness and vivid color accuracy with a Full Frame image circle with a super cool innovative image rotation compensator that allows for unlimited 360 degree movements of the “snorkel” head without spinning the entire camera rig, which is perfect for dynamic shots like peering into small spaces or moving across complex surfaces. The modular design, which utilizes a standard PL mount for the camera side and is often paired with a set of dedicated Leica M-mount lenses, also includes a rear booster to quickly convert the coverage to Super35 format while simultaneously increasing the effective aperture (you can watch a video about the lens here).

This very unique German marvel is not cheap, ranging from 65,000-100,000 Euros.

Orca Bags

At IBC, Orca Bags demonstrated a new bag + trolley system. This combo is called OR 72 (bag) and OR 700 (trolley). This combo is special as the bag is bigger than previous bags from Orca, but still capable of fitting in an overhead compartment by removing the internal trolley and adding an external trolley that you can take in your hand as you board the plane and open again easily.

YC Onion

YC Onion demonstrated several new products at IBC 2025. The first was the Tako T23 Tripod, which includes a smart leg open/close system and 90 90-degree center pole accessory for horizontal (top-down) shooting. The company also showcased the Cedar Professional Fluid Head that we covered here in the past (and was shown as a prototype last year at IBC), as well as a new ballhead, and finally the new PINETA Pro Monopod (super tall), with a quick knob to open and close the monopod (and foot locking mechanism).

Portkeys

At the show, PortKeys showcased several new products and technologies, including the new PortKeys LS7P (7”, 1000-nit sdi/hdmi with cross conversion, touch screen, touch camera control, touch AF, rotatable wireless transmitter base on the back, and much more.

The PortKeys LS7P sells for $450.

The second monitor on show at the booth was the compact PT5 III – a 5.4 touch monitor with camera control, selling for only $160.

PortKeys is also working on a One-to-Many Multi-Camera Control System for their monitors. The system allows a “master” Portkeys monitor to wirelessly communicate with and control up to four other compatible Portkeys monitors (which, in turn, control their connected cameras) within a range of about 50 meters (165 feet) with a special antenna (We are not sure when this technology will be available).

Aputure

At IBC this year, Aputure showcased the new family of the NOVA II advanced panel lights. The NOVA II is the successor to the P600c panel and comes in 2X1 and 1X1 variants. It marks a significant leap in LED technology by incorporating the BLAIR-CG light engine, a seven-diode chipset (Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, Red, Cyan, Green). This new design delivers an immense 1000W of power and class-leading color quality, offering an expansive CCT range from 1,800K to 20,000K and covering over 90% of the Rec. 2020 color space.

Key to its performance is a unique “focus-then-blend” optical formula, which produces a native 35° beam that remains bright and punchy even when diffused. Furthermore, the NOVA II features a robust, lightweight, and IP65-rated weather-resistant body, along with a new QuickClip direct front-mounting accessory system for a fast and flexible on-set workflow.

The NOVA II 2×1 sells for around $3700.

Auysmas

The Auysmas POWER HELIUM Square Balloon Lights present an innovative solution for large-area, high-output soft lighting in professional filmmaking and event production. Leveraging helium buoyancy, these inflatable, bi-color (2800K to 6500K) LED fixtures can effortlessly float to heights of up to 50 meters and are available with LED wattages reaching a powerful 10,000 Watts across balloon sizes as large as 10 x 10 meters. The square design and massive surface area ensure a broad, soft, and naturally diffused illumination, effectively eliminating harsh shadows and glare on set. Furthermore, for sustainable on-location use, the system offers an optional helium reclamation unit, positioning the Auysmas balloon light as a highly efficient and versatile tool for rigging complex lighting setups quickly and without heavy infrastructure.

The Auysmas POWER HELIUM Square Balloon Lights start from around $6000.

The highlight of the show, for us, just like in NAB this year, was the Pixboom Spark slow-motion camera capable of reaching around 1000fps at 4K resolution (even more at lower resolutions). We had a demo in real life of shooting a small toy falling to the ground, and in a few minutes, we got some really cool shots (see the video).

There is so many things that are technically interesting about this camera, including the lightweight design, with a hollow center for cooling, the special fast memory, and the way of working with the files the camera produces in post.

There are already several pre-production camera reviews of the Spark, including one from Philip Bloom (who we ran into at the show). We hope to get the camera for testing in our studio in 2026.

The camera is already on Kickstarter for under $8K (pricing after this will sell for around $13K in 2026).

During IBC 2025, iFootage showcased several upcoming products, including a new, longer version of its Nano 2 slider that works with DJI gimbals to create advanced movements. The new upcoming version will have a travel length of around 86cm  (currently there are two versions – 46cm and 66cm). This new unit should hopefully be ready soon (no pricing is known, but the current 66cm/26″ sells for $750).

The second slider showcased by iFootage at the show was the upcoming Shark Slider PICO – this is a really small slider for small cameras, phones, and action cameras like the Osmo pocket 3 with FW/BACK motion and rotation.

We also saw the A400 Round Base Monopod, which is the bigger brother to the A200 and A300 that we reviewed here before, and sells for around $120.

SmallRig

At the SmallRig booth at IBC this year, we saw quite a few new products, including the new SmallRig RM 40C Mini LED RGB (that we mentioned in a previous LensVid Talk), which is an extremely bright, tiny light with a diffuser and grid. The light already sells for around $80.

We also saw a prototype of a 20W version of the SmallRig RF 10C that we reviewed a while back (and found to be very useful but limited due to its output level).

Another new product was the Cage Series for iPhone 17 Pro, which has a huge number of accessories with lots of interesting features.

SmallRig is also working on a number of monopods with a fast deploy system (although the company still has some work on these prototypes).

Tilta

The new Tilta Boulder Camera Cart, which was shown for the first time at IBC 2025, is a rugged, modular, and portable workstation designed to meet the demands of professional film sets, DIT hubs, and mobile production environments.1 Built from durable aluminum, it features a clever tool-free, quick-release system that allows for rapid assembly and disassembly in minutes, with the entire unit collapsing into a secure, hard-shell case with integrated wheels for effortless transport in smaller vehicles.2 The cart boasts an impressive 882 lbs (400 kg) load capacity and a highly customizable design, including numerous mounting points, making it fully adaptable with accessories like monitor arms, speed rails, and collapsible side tables.5 The Tilta Boulder Camera Cart Basic Kit starts at $1200-1500.

Adobe

At the Adobe booth, we saw a few new things, with the most interesting (to us) being a demo of the film impact dashboard, which was recently added to the latest version of Premiere Pro. The Film Impact plug-in has long been considered one of the best transitions/effects in the industry, and the inclusion of it as part of Premiere Pro (after the company purchased Film Impact recently) is a huge bonus for PP users.

We also learned that the Film Impact team is joining Adobe and will continue developing the dashboard and evolving it in future versions of the software.
