3D Printing for Photographers
Before we go over to some news, we wanted to share a recent experience we had with 3D printing in the context of photography/videography. In recent years, 3D printers have become increasingly more advanced, easier to work with, and more cost-effective. The 3D printing community has been growing tremendously as well, and you can find hundreds and even thousands of free-to-print models on various websites across the web.
More specifically, when it comes to 3D printing photo/video-related designs, there is a huge variety, and in the video, we presented a number of useful designs that we recently printed with our new Bambu Labs P2S printer, including battery holders, gel holders, and much more, as well as organizational tools like Gridfinity (developed by Zack Freedman) that allows for any drawer to be fully organized over a set grid (we use it to organize our lenses and our screws and other small accesories).
If there is interest, in the future we might cover specific photo/video 3d printed designs here on the channel.
Tamron 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD
Tamron has announced a new fast telephoto zoom for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts. The 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD is positioned as a more compact and affordable alternative to the popular 35-150mm. It features Tamron’s VXD linear motors for fast AF, a USB port for customization, and a 67mm filter thread. The lens is moisture-resistant and weighs 565g.
Pricing: $900.

NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II
Nikon has updated its flagship telephoto zoom. The new Mark II version is lighter (under 1kg without the collar) and shorter than its predecessor. It features an internal zoom mechanism, making it more gimbal-friendly, and a new AF system that is claimed to be three times faster and quieter. The lens includes 11 aperture blades and improved optics for better macro magnification.
Pricing: $3,200.

Sigma 15mm f/1.4 Contemporary (APS-C)
Sigma continues to expand its APS-C lineup for Sony and Fuji users with a compact 15mm f/1.4. The lens features 13 elements in 11 groups (including 1 FLD and 3 SLD elements) and a 9-blade diaphragm. It has a minimum focusing distance of 17.7cm and weighs only 220g.
Pricing: $580.

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art
The updated 35mm f/1.4 Art is now 20% lighter (530g) and 14% shorter than the original version. While Sigma aims to compete with the Sony GM equivalent, this lens offers a significantly lower price point while maintaining high optical performance, though corner sharpness is slightly behind the native Sony option.
Pricing: $1,060.

Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF Cine Zoom Lens
Sigma also finally released the 28-105mm T3 FE Cine lens, weighing 1.3kg with a 95mm filter thread and 12 aperture blades (we have seen prototypes of this lens, which is a sister to the 28-45mm Cine lens, both with AF).
Pricing: $3400.

Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art in-Development
Sigma has also shared a development update for the upcoming 85mm f/1.2 DG Art lens, which is set to become the fastest prime in the company’s mirrorless lineup. While full technical specifications and pricing remain under wraps for now, the lens will feature an 82mm front filter thread, signaling a substantial optical design aimed at professional portrait and low-light photography. As a high-end Art-series entry, it is expected to compete directly with native flagship offerings by providing a combination of ultra-fast aperture and high resolving power.
Zeiss Otus ML 1.4/35
Zeiss has introduced the Otus ML 1.4/35 for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Canon RF mounts. This manual focus lens maintains the classic “Zeiss look” with an APO design and weather sealing.
Pricing: $2,300.

NiSi Athena Rewind Series
NiSi has released the Athena Rewind lens set. These lenses offer a dual personality: they provide a “dreamy” aesthetic when shot wide open at T1.9 and become more clinically sharp as the aperture is closed down.
Pricing: Approximately $1,270 per lens.

ARRI and Honor Strategic Collaboration
In a surprising move, ARRI and Honor have announced a technical collaboration. The upcoming Honor “Robot Phone” will incorporate ARRI image science and feature a 4DoF micro-gimbal with AI-powered motion tracking to stabilize footage.

Canon “Waist-Level” Prototype
At a recent CP+ 2026 trade show in Japan, Canon showcased a prototype camera with a fixed lens designed for waist-level shooting, featuring a top-mounted EVF. No further technical details or production plans have been released.
PDMovie Smart Fusion Adapter
The upcoming PDMovie Smart Fusion is a Sony E to PL smart adapter. Priced at $170, it allows PL lenses to work with Sony’s AF system (including touch focus) and integrates with the Live AIR 4 LiDAR follow focus system.
Pricing: $200.
DaVinci Resolve 21
Blackmagic Design has announced a major update to DaVinci Resolve. Version 21 introduces a dedicated Photo tab and a significant number of new AI-driven tools, including AI focus racking and AI Face AgeTransformer (that can age or make a face look younger using AI) to streamline the editing and color grading workflow.
