On this video Photographer Ted Forbes takes a look at sharpening in Photoshop and how to use the smart sharpen filter to sharpen both images for web and print.
There are several ways you can sharpen an image in Photoshop but one that is recommended time and time again is the smart sharpen. On this video, Forbes takes a look at how to use the smart sharpen filter, what do you need to consider for different type of images (hint: resolution is important) and what is your output – a display or a print as well as a few words about the change introduced by the new ultra high resolutions displays (which Apple refer to as Retina displays).
We have covered different aspects of sharpening in Photoshop in the past including a very recent video by Photoshop product manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes on “How to use Filters in Photoshop” and a previous one more specifically on sharpening which is also  worth checking out).
