Creating Realistic Smoke in Photoshop

On this  video photographer Glyn Dewis looks at adding a realistic looking smoke in two ways using in Photoshop.

The first is quite old – using the clouds filter (on a new layer) and after extracting just a portion and enlarging it – reducing the opacity to about 25% you start to get something that really resembles smoke. Finally using a 20% percent or so black brush you can reduce the smoke from your subject but in a way that will make it look more realistic and three dimensional than simply removing the smoke completely.

The second method has to do with brushes. You need to get this brush set and load them to Photoshop and change some of the settings in a similar way to what Dewis explains.
