How to Make an Image Look Old and Tattered in Photoshop

On this video, photographer Gavin Hoey  takes a look at at how you can make an image look “older” using a few simple tools and actions in Photoshop.

Hoey start by demonstrating how to (very easily) install two additions to Photoshop – one action and one brush which you can download for free from the following links:

We have tested this technique and it seems to work very nicely – you don’t even have to use it to age images – if you just like to have an image with the cut corners – you can do it with the action – it doesn’t even needs to be a B&W image as you can see from the quick example that we did below (just keep in mind that the action does take a minute or so – depending on your hardware).
