On this very video Julieanne Kost from Adobe, takes a look at the Lightroom Web service, what it can do and why you might want to use it.
A technology previews for Lightroom on the Web was actually introduced (with very little media attention) about a year and a half ago. Not too much has been heard of since than but today Adobe published a number of videos talking about this service which is open for creative cloud members.
So why would you need Lightroom Web and what can it do for you?
One of the things that you can do with Lightroom Web is access some of the images that you worked with on Lightroom on your computer when you are away from it. This can also be a good idea if you are in a different location and want to show some of your images to somebody on a different computer.
Of course there is much more that you can do with Lightroom Web now than just share and display photos (which from our understanding is the main reason Adobe is pushing these videos out now). There are some actual editing capabilities – to us they do now seem to be as extensive as Lightroom itself is but having at least some editing capabilities away from your computer is always a good thing and you don’t need to pay extra for it.
Below are a number of other videos Kost just made with Adobe about Lightroom Web capabilities:
The interface of Lightroom Web
Organising Photographs Using Collections in Lightroom Web
Making Color and Tonal Edits to Photographs in Lightroom Web
