Quick and Easy Backgrounds with Textures in Photoshop

On this  video tutorial photographer Glyn Dewis looks at adding a realistic looking texture to a grey background in Photoshop.

So the trick that Dewis is demonstrating in this video which is going to make your life that much easier if you want to do composites where you are replacing the background with a different image is to shoot your subjects with a grey background.

If you do that you can pretty simply use a blend mode (like overly) and with just a little bit extra work with a layer mask and a dark brush and you have a perfect composite with no need for complex cut out job. So simple so ingenious!
