The Basics of Video Camera Movment

On this video videographer Israel Hyman (a.k.a. Izzy from IzzyVideo) takes a look at some of the basics of video camera movement.

There are lots of things to learn about camera movement in video shooting and there are a lot of different techniques and tools that you might want to master in order to improve your ability to tell a story. On this video Izzy focuses on demonstrating some of the more basic ones including simple handheld, panning and tilting, dolly (and dolly tracks), sliders, steadicams and more.

This is not the first time we look at different techniques (and tips) for moving the camera during video shooting. This february we looked at a 30 min webinar on HDSLR which also looked at camera movement and you you might also enjoy filmmaker’s Richard Michalak 2011 full video on Cinematography.

You can watch more HDSLR and video techniques on our dedicated HDSLR channel here on LensVid.
