Welcome to LensVid Talk episode 52! Following our look at the massive wave of camera and lens announcements last week, we are diving into the second part of our NAB 2026 coverage. This week, we focus on the incredible advancements in production infrastructure, high-end audio, modular power, and the smart lighting technology that stole the show.

RØDE Sonaura MEMS Micro-Technology

RØDE has unveiled a proprietary semiconductor-based MEMS mic capsule measuring just 4mm × 5mm. It brings studio-grade audio fidelity to micro-capsules and is built to withstand extreme environmental conditions. RØDE confirmed it will debut on the new Lectrosonics L1 lavalier microphone before rolling out into the standard RØDE lineup. The new chip is made by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies.

RØDELink II UHF Wireless System

This is a heavy-duty, professional dual-channel UHF system utilizing engineering tech from Lectrosonics. The transmitters are highly compact (using thin Nikon-style removable batteries), lack breakable screens, and feature internal 32-bit float backup recording to MicroSD. It also includes an integrated master timecode generator and dual-channel auto-frequency switching to dodge RF interference.

  • Pricing: $1,499.00 (Includes 2x TX, 1x RX, premium travel case, 3x batteries, and broadcast lavaliers).

RØDECaster Studio & RØDE Capture AI Updates

Developed by RØDE’s UK-based AI laboratory, these upcoming software tools are focused on AI-assisted automation, including text-based dialogue editing (automatically deleting filler words), smart speaker multi-mic isolation, and automated studio mixing. Additionally, RØDE Capture “Direct Connect” will allow users to connect Wireless PRO and Wireless GO III units directly to a smartphone over Bluetooth, bypassing the physical receiver.

RØDE Premium Studio Accessories

RØDE has expanded its ecosystem with several new pro-level accessories:

  • LPA1 Long-Reach Studio Arm: A premium boom arm with a 750mm horizontal reach, 360° silent rotation, internal cable management, and a 2kg load capacity.

  • DS3 Heavy-Duty Desktop Stand: A weighted desktop stand with an integrated ball head, supporting devices up to 1.5kg (available in black or white with a cork base).

  • Pro Audio/Timecode Cables: A new line of dedicated TRS-to-BNC, TRS-to-5-Pin LEMO, and XLR Splitter cables designed for secure hardware sync on location sets.

Core SWX PowerVault

Co-developed with filmmaker Armando Ferreira, the PowerVault is a rugged, cable-free modular charging case built inside a Pelican-style hard shell. It features an internal backplane that lets you snap in interchangeable battery plates (V-mount, Gold-mount, NP-F, LP-E6NH) to charge multiple ecosystems simultaneously without tangled cords. The hub supports intelligent cross-charging and includes a 140W USB-C PD Pro port capable of running high-end editing laptops.

Hollyland Pyro Ultra

Stepping up from the standard Pyro series, this system natively streams up to UHD 4K60 video over a line-of-sight range of 1,500 meters (approx. 4,900 feet) using proprietary TWiFi stability and DFS dual-band switching. A single transmitter can broadcast to an unlimited number of receivers in Broadcast Mode. It features both HDMI 2.0 and SDI connectivity, and a “Focus Mode” that drops latency to an incredibly low 20ms for precision wireless focus-pulling.

YC Onion Tako Nano & Pineta Monopod Dolly

The Tako Nano is a sub-1kg carbon fiber monopod that extends to 172cm and doubles as a freestanding light stand via its detachable pedal base. The Professional kit includes the FX50 fluid head, which features a one-button “One Flip” mechanical switch to instantly flip between landscape and vertical orientations. For rolling setups, the Pineta Monopod Dolly (MQD30) replaces the foot pedal with a heavy-duty tri-wheel base to convert the monopod into an agile studio tracking dolly.

DJI Power 1000 Mini

DJI’s most portable power station, the Power 1000 Mini, packs 1008Wh into an 11.5kg chassis. It delivers a 1000W peak / 800W continuous AC output and hits an impressive 0–80% recharge in just 58 minutes. It includes a built-in 100W retractable USB-C cable, a 400W car fast-charger, and a built-in high-efficiency MPPT solar module.

Seagate Exos 44TB Enterprise HDD

A major infrastructure highlight for DITs and data centers, this drive utilizes Seagate’s new Mozaic 4+ platform and HAMR technology to achieve 4.4TB per platter. It is a 7200 RPM CMR drive pushing sustained speeds near 300 MB/s, allowing server rooms to double storage density within the same hardware footprint.

NEEWER F700U OLED 7″ Monitor

Bringing OLED monitoring to an entry-level price point, this 1080p touchscreen offers a 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 1200 nits of brightness. It features HDMI and 3G-SDI I/O, dual Sony NP-F battery mounts for continuous power, and a full suite of monitoring tools including custom 3D LUT loading via SD card.

Aputure STORM CS32

A 3200W COB fixture engineered to replace 4K HMIs, pumping out 105,300 lux at 3 meters. It features the cutting-edge BLAIR-CG light engine, which integrates Indigo emitters for natural fluorescence and Extended Red for skin tones, netting a 1,800K to 20,000K CCT range.

It features the toolless, hot-swappable QuikBrick battery system and can run completely cable-free via LumenRadio CRMX or via a single PoE (Power over Ethernet) line that handles both data and power.

Godox PaletteLab Engine & New Fixtures

Godox debuted PaletteLab, a 9-band full-spectrum color engine achieving an SSI score of 92. The new ecosystem includes the ML150RF (150W), SL200RF (200W), SL300RF (300W), and the heavy-duty, IP65-sealed KNOWLED PL600RF (600W) and PL1200RF (1200W). Godox KNOWLED AM800R Inflatable LED Mat

An agile 4′ x 4′ airframe LED mat drawing 900W. The IP65-rated fixture’s internal airframe holds inflation for up to 14 days without a pump. It offers a CCT range from 1,800K to 10,000K and ships with a honeycomb grid and two types of diffusion.

  • Pricing: Around $4,000, slated for late June 2026.

Betty Lights Stainless Steel Luminous Reflector

A premium, unbreakable lighting control system engineered for human skin tones. Fabricated from laser-cut stainless steel with a proprietary dimpled texture, it provides a sculpted, wrap-around bounce with Fresnel-like directionality. It uses a toolless magnetic mounting backplane for fast set-up.

  • Pricing: From $445 (A4 Kit) up to $2,300+ for large sets.

Adobe Premiere Pro “Color Mode”

Adobe unveiled Color Mode, a ground-up reimagining of Premiere’s color infrastructure that replaces the aging Lumetri workflow. It is a dedicated, application-sized grading workspace with a modernized interface, native NVIDIA RTX AI hardware acceleration, and dozens of built-in look styles.

Marker Maker Bundle

A workflow tool consisting of a timecode receiver (RX) and small wireless Bluetooth transmitter (TX) trigger buttons. This ecosystem allows a director or producer up to 100 meters away to press a button to “mark” a good moment, which is instantly embedded as a marker onto audio tracks or internal SD cards alongside standard LTC timecode.

  • Pricing: $300 (Standard Bundle). Scheduled to ship by late summer 2026.
