First Look: F&V UltraColor Z400S and Ultracolor Z800s Soft LED Panels

NAB 2016 keeps bringing us more and more interesting products. This one from F&V in the Netherlands is a pair of bright but soft LED panels and Nino Leitner from cinema5D had a chance to chat with Mark from F&V who explained a bit about the new light.

As Mark explains it, the Z400S and Z800s are both variable color lights which are capable of giving full power all the way from a warm 3200K and up to the maximum cooler daylight 5600k which is quite unique. The lights are also very soft with a fixed front light diffuser.

The light is very wide – a 130 degree angle but if you want you can get a softbox which makes the light much more focused (50 degrees angle) but also almost 3 times as bright at over 4400 lux (you can even add a grid). the Z800s is very similar but has twice the size and twice the power.

The lights are said to be extremely color accurate with what seems to be an unprecedented TLCI of 99.
