First Look: LanParte Gimbals with Wireless Control Unit

During NAB 2016 which took place in Las Vegas recently, Bart Johnson did a quick interview with the guys from LanParte who show their new Gimbal and Gimbal accessories including a wireless control unit for their Gimbals.

During NAB 2016, LanParte showcased their LA3D gimbal and the new gimbal adapter for smartphones which use basically the same gimbal as that used for GoPro but with a different holder. With the LanParte Gimbal you can easly control PAN/TILT with you but to us the more interesting feature is not the gimbal itself (let’s face it there are so many of those to go around these days) but actually the wireless (BT) controlling unit.

This unit can be attached to the gimbal or – and this is interesting – can control the gimbal and the camera from a distance. What we are not sure about is – if you control the unit from say 10 feet (around 3 m) how can you see the frame (with a GoPro you can use your smartphone – but what do you do when you use the gimbal with your smartphone?).

The LA3D gimbal is rather affordable and is already selling on B&H for $360. We will be talking to LanParte to check the pricing for the new accessories and update this post accordingly.
