On this video photographer Curtis Judd decided to take a quick look at the Focus Shifter – a simple follow focus that can attach to more or less any lens and help you rack focus better.
The Focus Shifter is a very simple unit which helps you change the focus of your lens more accurately without the need for a more complex gear system which is usually associated with follow focus systems.
The Focus Shifter is a stand-alone unit with a focus marker board that can be used on any camera lens. The Shifter and Focus Marker Board attach quickly and easily to any lens ranging in diameter from 56mm (2.20in) up to 98mm (3.86in).
This is probably not a substitute for a professional follow focus system but sometimes you need something simple to help you change from one focus point to another and this might just do the trick
