Fotodiox FlapJack Edgelights LEDs

Fotodiox recently announced a new series of LEDs for both stills and video work. The company’s new FlapJacks’ LEDs use an interesting design with the LEDs mounted around the outer edge, aimed inward at a diffusion layer of material.

The new FlapJacks produce bounce light which is more diffused and softer than conventional LED lights and can be ideal for filling up shadows and lighting up small spaces and can even be useful for some types of product shots.

On the video above, Bohuš Blahut gives an interesting look at the FlapJack line which includes 4 different LEDs – two of them round and two rectangle:

Fotodiox Pro FlapJack LED Edge Light C-200R – 7-Inch Round light
Fotodiox Pro FlapJack LED Edge Light C-300R – 10-Inch Round.
Fotodiox Pro FlapJack LED Edge Light C-200L – 4×11-Inch Long Rectangle light.
Fotodiox Pro FlapJack LED Edge Light C-200S – 5×8-Inch Rectangle light.

Prices range from around $250 for the $400 depending on the model.
