Hands on with the New Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way Head

Earlier this year Manfrotto introduced the X PRO 3 Way Head, a brand new head designed for photographers looking for maximum precision with a compact size.

The video above by ParkCameras in the U.K. gives a quick first look at the new Manfrotto the X PRO 3 Way Head and some of its features.

As we have mentioned in our original post –  The head has retractable levers for better portability (it is only 13cm x 13.5cm x 13.5cm or 5.1” x 5.3” x 5.3” when folded), made from strong light aluminium (weighs just 1kg, but can carry up to 8kg  or 17.6lbs) and includes full friction controls for the pan and tilt axes that can be set to balance the weight of the camera even when the locking knobs are open.

More information on the new New X-PRO 3-WAY Head can be found on the manfrotto website. You can buy the Manfrotto MHXPRO3W X-PRO 3-Way Head on Amazon for just under $140.

With this new head, you’ll find retractable levers, that can be extended when needed, making it much more compact and therefore easier to transport.

Three-way heads are ideal for making fine and precise adjustments — in macro photography, for example. This head is no different, with friction controls on the tilt and portrait movements, allowing for delicate framing adjustments to be made with the locking knob open.

The design of the X PRO 3-Way Head is part of the iconic new style that defines Manfrotto’s whole range of products for advanced hobby photographers and professionals alike, including their 190 and 055 tripods.

This head is available in stores in Central London and Burgess Hill, West Sussex, where you can try it out for yourself, using your own gear. We also have technical experts from Manfrotto in store on a regular basis. Find us at www.Facebook.com/ParkCameras for all the latest updates.
