Lilliput A12 Monitor Hands on Look – 4K 12.5″ Monitor

Sometimes you just need more, more resolution, more size or more inputs. The new Lilliput A12 monitor seems to provide all of that and more in a relatively inexpensive package. Caleb Pike from DSLR Video Shooter had a chance to play with this new monitor and seems to be very pleased with its all-around performance.

If you find yourself in need for either more resolution from your monitor and 1080p just won’t cut it anymore the Lilliput A12 does not only support 4K (or actually UHD) but it has a 4K panel (something that only very few camera monitors implement at the moment and most of those are prohibitively expensive).

Even more interestingly in our view – this 12.5″ monitor can take 4 inputs (2 HDMI – one 2.0 and one 1.4, 2 SDI in and out) and it even has DVI and a DisplayPort (which you can use as a small additional display for your computer).

The monitor can be set to a split view (4 screens) or to picture in picture (if you have the main camera and a secondary one), it also has a Sony NPF battery support in the back and quite a few focus and exposure tools.

Here are some of the specs for the Lilliput A12:

  • Size: 12.5 inch IPS panel (170° Viewing Angle).
  • Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (ultra HD).
  • Inputs: SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
  • Picture-in-Picture and Multiview (including support for up to 4 cameras).
  • Focus and Exposure Tools: false color, peeking 1:1 zoom, check field and more.
  • VESA Mount: 75mm.
  • Price: $600.
