A look at Some of the New Monitors and Recorders at NAB 2017
For day two of NAB 2017 we are bringing you a quick look at some of the interesting new monitors and recorders introduced during this show by different manufacturers curtsy of B&H.
We will start with the new Sumo 19″ monitor/recorder by Atomos. This advanced monitor/recorder packs a 1920×1080 10-bit LCD driven by the AtomHDR engine to help map Log/PQ/HLG for 10+ stops of HDR with ProRes/DNxHR, and 1080p60 live switching/recording as well as ” HDR 1200nit and 10+ stops. The monitor has HDMI 2.0 (up to 4k 60p & 3G QuadLink/6G/12G SDI in any combination). The monitor cost $2500.
The second monitor is the very interesting new Focus 5″ monitor by smallHD. This 720p display is extremely bright, has an advanced touch interface and comes with a useful tilt arm for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. It will also be able to power a camera with a dummy battery from the L-series battery on its back – super useful. It will sell for $500 (more on the FUCUS – here).

Marshall also introduced a new monitor – the 7″ V-LCD70W-SH which is designed specifically for DSLR and mirrorless cameras with HDMI and SDI and a light weight.
D24 is a new large monitor by iKAN which you can see along with a few other new monitors by the company in the video below.
