In this extensive video interview, photographers Jay P. Morgan (from the Slanted Lens) talks to award winning photographer Hernan Rodriguez about his career, photography, running a business and more.
Hernan loves working with people and although he is well known for his fashion and celebrity work, he also photographs families, corporate and editorial. He started as a graphic designer and moved to photography later on. He came from a family of artists and at a young age he used to paint.
He used to hire photographers as a art director and eventually he decided that he can do this work on his own and this is how his photographic career started. In his interview with Morgan he talks about the moment where he became 100% committed to photography (after somebody stole all his computers with graphic design).
Hernan talks about his influences as well as about the business side of photography which is a topic a lot of photographers do not touch upon openly in interviews.
