Joe McNally: Behind The Scenes Transformation

On this short behind the scenes video pro photographer Joe McNally gives us a quick pick into a unique photography project called Transformation produced for Nikon U.S..

Taking a model and changing her to a different character, with the help of a number of skilled artists on the set, is something that we have seen many times in the past on photoshoots. Just how far you can take this process depends on your imagination and talent and the capability of you as a photographer and the creative team that you have at your disposal.

On this shoot you can easily see how powerful good makeup, body painting, lighting and camera work can be in this type of studio production. Interestingly (although this should not really come as any surprise as this is a Nikon project) all the lighting for this shoot was based on SB-5000 Speedlights and not strobes.
