Platon is one of our favorite portrait photographers. In this New-Yorker video, we get a quick glimpse into his work documenting real people in the Greek Islands where he grew up.
In this video, Platon discusses a project he shot over the past twenty years during trips to his childhood home in the Greek Islands documenting a culture that is quickly disappearing.
We have already covered Platon’s work in the past in an episode of the series Capture where photographer Mark Seliger talks to Platon and to the actor (and photography fan) Dylan McDermott. In the interview, Platon, speaks about his experience shooing popular names such as Bill Clinton, Willie Nelson, and Gadaffi – an interesting watch if you are interested in portrait photography.
