Osee G7 Pro monitor review

A few weeks back, we published an extensive review of the Osee G7 Pro. The monitor is a 7-inch professional on-camera monitor featuring a 3000-nit high-brightness display (even more in our test!). The monitor supports 4K HDMI input and output, alongside 3G-SDI input and loop-through for broad compatibility with professional cameras. Key monitoring tools include waveform, vectorscope, histogram, false color, and peaking, designed to assist videographers with accurate exposure and focus. The monitor is powered by Sony NP-F type batteries or DC input and features a robust aluminum alloy chassis. It also supports camera control via USB for a number of popular cameras.

We mentioned the Westcott Easy Boom when it was announced a few months ago. We can now share that we are in the process of reviweing the boom and that we are testing the unit with the longer 28″ extention unit (instead of the original 14″ boom), just a heds up we highly suggest that you get this longer version as we feel it is much more useful. More on this in the upcoming full review later this year.

The Westcott Easy Boom is sold for $350 (the 14″ version sells for $330).

Canon EOS R50V

The Canon EOS R50V is a compact APS-C mirrorless camera, positioned as an entry-level video-centric model within Canon’s EOS R system. It features a 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and utilizes the DIGIC X image processor, supporting continuous shooting at up to 15 frames per second with its electronic shutter. The camera offers 4K 30p video recording oversampled from 6K, and includes Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for subject tracking. It is equipped with a vari-angle touchscreen LCD and an electronic viewfinder.

Canon EOS R50V is sold for $930 with the 14-30mm kit lens (or $700 body only).

Canon RF-S 14-30mm lens

The RF-S 14-30mm is a wide-angle zoom lens designed for Canon’s APS-C EOS R mirrorless cameras (RF-S mount). With a focal length range equivalent to approximately 22-48mm in full-frame terms, it targets landscape and general wide-angle photography. The lens features an STM (Stepping Motor) for quiet and smooth autofocus, suitable for video recording, and incorporates optical image stabilization to reduce camera shake. Its compact and lightweight design aims for portability.

The Canon RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ Lens is sold for $350.

Nikon Z5 II

The Nikon Z5 II is a full-frame mirrorless camera, serving as an update to the Z5, designed for advanced enthusiasts. It features a 24.3-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and is powered by dual EXPEED 6 processors, allowing for faster continuous shooting and improved autofocus performance. The camera supports 4K 60p video recording with a crop and includes in-body 5-axis vibration reduction. It retains the dual SD card slots and weather-sealed construction of its predecessor.

The Nikon Z5 II sells for $1700.

Panasonic Lumix S1II and Lumix S1 IIE

The Panasonic Lumix S1II and S1 IIE are full-frame mirrorless cameras, building upon the S1 series with updated features for both stills and video. They typically incorporate advanced autofocus systems and enhanced video capabilities, likely including higher frame rates or improved internal recording options. The “E” designation often indicates a specific regional variant or a kit option. Both models aim to provide robust performance for professional content creation, utilizing Panasonic’s L-mount system.

The Panasonic Lumix S1II sells for $3200. The Panasonic Lumix S1IIE sells for $2500.

Zoom H5 Studio field recorder

The Zoom H5 Studio Field Recorder is a portable audio recording device featuring interchangeable input capsules, including an XY microphone module as standard. Viltrox 50mm f/2 Air

The Viltrox 50mm f/2 Air is a compact and lightweight prime lens designed for various mirrorless mounts. It offers a 50mm focal length with a wide f/2 aperture, suitable for portraits, low-light photography, and general shooting. The “Air” designation suggests a focus on minimizing weight and size. Laowa 15mm f/4.5 1:2x magnification

The Laowa 15mm f/4.5 0.5X Wide Angle Macro lens is a manual focus prime lens designed for full-frame cameras, offering a unique combination of an ultra-wide 15mm focal length and 0.5x magnification for macro photography. It features an f/4.5 maximum aperture and an angle of view of approximately 110.5 degrees. Constructed with 16 elements in 11 groups, including aspherical, HR, and ED elements, the lens aims for controlled distortion and good sharpness, even at its closest focusing distance of 12.9 cm (5.08 inches), where the working distance is 36mm. Weighing around 308g (0.68lb) and featuring a 62mm front filter thread, it is a compact and lightweight option available for various mounts, with some versions supporting auto-aperture and EXIF data transmission.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro
