A Look at Photoshop Update (Late November 2015)

Yesterday, Adobe announced another update to its Photoshop CC. Although a lot of the new features are design related, there are a few things that will appeal to photographers as well.

During the recent Adobe MAX we have seen a very interesting demo of the upcoming tool called ExtractShading. Although we are not sure if Adobe is ready with it yet – quite a few other additions are here with the most recent November update to Photoshop CC.

There are quite a few new features and improvements including:

  • Completely new start and workspace
  • Camera RAW improvements (including local haze).
  • Design Space Help
  • Design Space Forum
  • Design Space on Twitter
  • Send feature requests and bugs to Feedback
  • Modern, Touch-Enabled Interface
  • CC Libraries Improvements.
  • Font Favourites: quickly find the font you need by flagging individual fonts as favourites.
  • An improved Asset Export experience with support for all file formats.
  • Expanded SVG support: now you can open and place native SVG content in your Photoshop designs.
  • Glyph panel improvements so you can see your most recently used glyphs, choose to sort by Unicode value or Glyph ID, drag a glyph to generate a new type layer, create a vector path with Option-drag, and maintain a selected glyph when switching fonts.

You can read the full list of features on the Adobe Photoshop blog.
