Adding Texture to Photographs Using Photoshop

On this Adobe video Julieanne Kost takes a close look at how to add texture to photographs in Photoshop using blend modes.

Kost demonstrates how to use different blend modes in Photoshop to add two types of textures to an image. The important part is to know how the two layers interact and what can you do to make them work in harmony.

We have looked at both blending layers and adding textures to images in Photoshop in the past – check out “How to Add a Background Texture to a Portrait in Photoshop” with Aaron Nace and a great basic basic tutorial for blending layers – “Understanding Blending Modes in Photoshop” by Jesús Ramirez.
