How to Quickly Replace Backgrounds in Photoshop

On this quick video Colin Smith from PhotoshopCAFE shows how to use refine edge in Photoshop CC 2017.

Selecting is one of the most basic functions in Photoshop. In the recent updates of Photoshop things have changed a little and in this video Smith takes a look at using the older refine edge in the newer Photoshop CC versions.

If you prefer the older refine edge over the new select mask you might realise that it is no where to be found in Photoshop CC 2017. Basically all you need to do is go to the select menu and hold the shift key while pressing the select and mask – and that is all there is to it – you get your old refine edge menu.

We have looked at the refine edge tool several times in the past including Mastering Selections and Refine Edge in Photoshop with Glyn Dewis and Photoshop Tutorial: How to Best Use the Refine Edge Tool with Howard Pinsky and How to Use the Refine Edge Tool in Photoshop with Aaron Nace.
