Wacom Intorduce Cintiq Companion Windows 8 and Android Tablets


Japanese manufacturer Wacom introduced today several new products that might appeal to both graphic designers and photographers alike. The first device is the new Cintiq Companion tablet which is based on Windows 8 OS and has the Cintiq advanced system (with the Multi-touch input and 2048 levels of pen pressure).

Here is the list of features of the Wacom Cintiq Companion:

  • 13.3″ display with 1920 x 1080 pixel (IPS).
  • Windows 8/Windows 8 Pro (depending on the exact configuration)
  • Multi-touch display with 2048 levels of pen pressure.
  • Intel Core i7-3517U Ivy Bridge processor (interestingly Wacom did not go for Haswell here).
  • 8GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB SSD (no specific model was mentioned).
  • Mini DisplayPort & 2 USB 3.0 ports.
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi & Bluetooth 4.0.
  • 2MP front camera & 8MP back camera.
  • 64.4 Whr battery (no mention of battery life).
  • 14.8″ x 9.8″ x 0.7″ (or 375 x 248 x 17 mm).
  • 3.9 pounds (or 1.7 kg)
  • Price: $2000-$2500 (depending on the specific configuration).

  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.
  • Micro HDMI port.
  • 2MP front camera & 8MP back camera.
  • 48 Whr or 72.8Whr battery.
  • When connected to a computer (PC or MAC) it will Work as a Cintiq graphics tablet.
  • Apps: Wacom Creative Canvas, Wacom Manga Canvas, ASTRO File Manager etc.
  • 14.8″ x 9.8″ x0.6″ (or 375 x 248 x 16 mm)
  • 3.6 or 3.9 pounds (1.7-1.8kg)
  • Price: $1500-$1600.

Along with the two tablets Wacom also introduced a pro-level pressure sensitive Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad devices costing just under $100.
