A Look at What Canon is Planing for the Future at Canon Expo 2015

Photographer Tony Northrup and his wife Chelsea were invited to the Canon Expo 2015 where the Japanese company showcased some of its future technology including a 120MP DSLR, a 250MP sensor, a much smaller 600mm f/4 lens, 8K video camera and much more.

With Sony breathing down its neck recently Canon feels it has something to prove as the leader of the photography market and in this year’s Canon Expo the company really let loose all the stops with a large number of innovative futuristic technologies including many ultra high res sensors and cameras for both stills and video, a ultra high sensitivity camera, a compact long telephoto lens unlike anything we have ever seen and even some competently unrelated technologies such as virtual reality headset (which looks super odd with to hand bars).

One thing which Northrup didn’t see/mention is a new wireless charging technology Canon developed for future cameras which should be able to charge cameras from a special charging pad.

The big question as always with Canon is how long will we have to wait before we will actually be able to buy all these incredible technologies (not to mention how much they will cost…).
