Fxlion MAX2400 Portable Power Station and V-Mount Batteries (IBC 2023) New advnaced batteries

During IBC 2023 we had a chance to talk to Andre Kurtz from Fxlion about a number of new batteries the company released recently or working on at the moment. These include the new Nano Wireless battery, the “high power battery” and the Fxlion MAX2400 Portable Power Station.

Nano Wireless Battery

Announced a few months back, the Nano Wireless line includes a number of interesting features including D-tap (one or two depending on the model), USB-A and micro USB as well as a USB-C PD (up to 60W with 20A/3V).

Each of the three variants (50Wh/8A, 98Wh/10A, and 150Wh/12A) has a screen and button for showing the battery status) as well as a built-in protection circuit for over-current, over-charge, over-discharge, and over-heat.

The wireless aspect of the new batteries is their ability to perform wireless charge for smartphones up to 15W (on the top part of the battery).

We covered the Nano Wireless V-mount battery line on episode 3 of LensVid Talk.

High Power Battery

Another V-mount battery showcased at IBC is the new fully Waterproof Giant called BP-HP600, a 14.4V / 559Wh high-power waterproof battery from Fxlion. This huge battery weighs in at close to 2.8KG/6lbs and it is designed to be used with high power lights (300W/600W) and is IP54 rated.

According to Fxlion the battery is equipped with a high-power intelligent protection chip, offering safeguards against overcharge, over-discharge, temperature fluctuations, and over-current as well as overload self-recovery design for added reliability.

The battery is rated for 30A so it can work under stress with high-powered lights for a long time and is equipped with a dual D-Tap design, each outputting at 14.4V/10A.

The battery is constructed from special materials, making it shockproof, and it includes 5-level LED indicators.

MAX2400 Portable Power Station

The third and by far the largest battery Fxlion had on display is the upcoming MAX2400 – a 40Ah / 2060.8Wh portable power station that uses LiFePO4 (or Lithium Iron Phosphate technology). This is only one of a handful of photo/video-centric large batteries (maybe electric generators will be a better name).

This huge battery can be fully charged and discharged over 2000 times and it supports simultaneous charging and discharging. It has an impressive peak AC discharge of 4800W. One very impressive feature of this battery is the recharging speed of the battery thanks to the built-in 1500W high-power charging mechanism. You can recharge it directly using the provided AC charging cable, to full capacity in just 1.6 hours (most comparable batteries achieve the same feat in twice the time or more).

You can also use solar charging up to 800W, as well as 12V car charging systems for added convenience. It has a 5W emergency light and SOS as well as a rugged build with rubberized corners allowing the user to pack several units on top of one another.

You can link 2 of the MAX2400 batteries and get either 4200Wh or be able to draw 4800W (not as a peak but as a constant draw). Each battery weighs in at around 25GK (55lbs) and it is relatively quiet (although it was difficult to hear exactly on IBC due to the general noise).

The MAX2400 can be used as a 10ms UPS, the unit has 4 AC ports, 2 USB C PD (60w), and 2 USB A connectors as well as wireless charging on the top and a cigarette lighter socket.

The MAX2400 has many safety features to protect against over-current, over-discharge, overload, and over-voltage during both charging and discharging processes. It also includes an LCD for battery usage information.
