During CES 2014 Nikon didn’t only announce the new D3300 and 2 new lenses (see hands on video here), but it also announced it is working on a replacement for its current professional flagship camera – the Nikon D4.
Unsurprisingly named the D4S – there is very little official information about this new model. A prototype of the D4S was shown (behind glass) on CES (see the short video above from Kelbyone with Larry Backer).
Unofficially we know a little bit more than what Nikon is willing to tell us at this point – here are a few points:
- Similar external look to the D4 (and similar memory card configuration – CF/XQD).
- Faster/new processor with faster shooting speed (probably some version of the Expeed 4).
- Faster AF speed.
- Better IQ (double the ISO).
- Announcement – February 2014 (availability – March 2014).
