Zeiss Talk Lens Design

Photographer Matt Granger (aka ThatNikonGuy) recently had a chance to do in in-depth technical but very interesting interview with Dr Hubert Nasse, senior Scientist in the Camera Lens Division at Zeiss, during Photokina 2014.

If you are into some of the more technical aspects of photography and lenses in particular – don’t miss this interview, Nasse talks very openly about many questions that has to do with the development of lenses, limitations, challenges, design and how it changed over the years

During Photokina 2012 we had a chance to do an interview with Bertram Honlinger from Zeiss where we also asked quite a few general questions about lens design (the context of the interview was the release of the first Otus 55mm f/1.4, while on Granger’s interview the context was the new Otus 85mm f/1.4).

Talking about the new Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4, Granger had a unique chance to play with it recently and we also brought to you his impressions. Also, if you haven’t checked our extensive coverage of Photokina 2014 products in images – be sure to do so.
