Today we are happy to post the second episode in our LensVid Talk series and on this one, we cover a very broad range of topics including not only hardware and software but also some industry trends and some news.
Atoll vs Smallrig Camera Rotating Collar
Earlier this week we published our review of two horizontal-vertical rotating collars from Silence Corner (Atoll) and SmallRig.
In our discussion, we tried to understand where this new line of products is coming from (is it even truly innovative) and where it should be heading in the future in terms of improvements (better compatibility for cages, gimbals, etc.) and more.
Check out our full article on the Atoll and SmallRig collars
Spigot with a flat side
This one is not news or reviews but a little something useful that we discovered recently (some of you might have known about it for years) and its a spigot for a light stand but with 2 flat sides to prevent a connected light (or anything else with significant weight from twisting.
Since these are not much more expensive than the regular ones we really see no reason why not to buy them.

Came-TV V-mount clamp
We love clamps (more actually we have a secret obsession with clamps, but we will discuss that in another episode). Came-TV recently came up with a really well-made one that is great for V-mount batteries (and other V-style attachments), is strong, and has all the 1/3″ and 3/8″ connections that you need (some even with arri pin hols – thanks Came-TV). It’s much better than older designs and is fairly affordable.

LOGITECH ACQUIRES FINLAND-BASED loupedeck
This one has nothing to do with gear (not directly at least). Our friends over at DIYphotography recently reported that Logitech acquired the Finish loupedeck, a manufacturer of editing consoles/keyboards for creators.
We are not sure what to think of this move and how it will influence the ever-growing market of editing keyboards for editors and content creators but it is certainly interesting to see Logitech investing in this growing niche.

DJI Air 3 Announced
DJI recently added yet another camera drone to its ever-growing collection. The Air 3 (no, not Mavic Air 3 as we mistakenly called it in the video). The new drone brings a number of improvements over the AIR 2S including dual cameras (24mm and 70mm), 4K 100fps shooting, and a longer run time of 46min (officially). Is this enough to make this drone a new midrange king?
Pricing for the new AIR 3 will depend on the specific kit.

DAVINCI RESOLVE 18.5 final with RELIGHT FX feature
DaVinci Resolve keeps getting better and with the latest official version (18.5) it brings a long list of new features (which were in beta until now) including a very interesting relight option that allows the user to change the lighting of any part of the image using a depth map (so effectively you can choose to light your subject but not the background for example).
More on version 18.5 can be found on the Blackmagic website.

ZY Optics APO 200mm f/4 1x macro lens
ZY Optics recently announced an interesting macro lens – the ZY Optics APO 200mm f/4 1x macro. This new manual focus lens is fairly affordable, comes in different mounts (FF coverage), has 11 Elements in 7 Groups with 9 aperture blades, and has a sturdy metal build with a min working distance of 48cm (under 19″) which is fairly long and can allow users to be further away from their subject (think bees, butterflies and other creatures which you do not want to be too close to).
You can buy the new lens and get more specs on the ZY Optics website.

Zhiyun molus g200 cob & fiveray-v60 tube light
Zhiyun recently announced two new lights after their successful launch of the Zhiyun Molus X100 and G60 Pocket COB which we reviewed here a few months ago. These new lights make some interesting updates.
The G200 is a 200W cube-shaped light with an option for even more output (up to 300W) with a large fan (very important for such a small powerful light) and 2700K-6500K color temperature and a very simple operation it looks like a very interesting (and affordable) light which we just might test later on this year.
The fiveray v60 (60W) is a lower-powered stick/tube handheld LED compared to the existing 100W version but with a new design and nicer side controls. It will start selling soon in regular or combo kit options.

Zhiyun Crane 4
Zhiyun has been hard at work lately and while we are still working on the review of the Weebill 3s the company had time to announce the new version of its larger brother the Crane 4. Honestly, you will be hard-pressed to tell them apart as they look very similar with the built-in light, hand grip, and handle but there are some important differences in the design of the gimbal in terms of size and clearance as well as carrying capacity.
The Crane 4 also has an interesting balance indicator light on the side motor (we will need to see exactly how it works if we get a chance to review this model).
The Crane 4 can also be purchased as a regular or combo kit.

Sirui nightwalker lenses
This one is a big deal for anybody looking for an affordable, ultra-fast, compact S35 Cine lens set. Sirui who has already proven its track record in other Cine and anamorphic lenses has not a new compact line of small and yet very affordable lenses in 24mm, 35mm, and 55 mm focal lengths.
From what we have seen online so far, reviews seem very positive and we would be happy to test them ourselves in the studio if we can. They are currently at an even more discounted price on Indigogo.

SIRUI Blaze C150/B and C300/B
Sirui not only announced new lenses but also new lights. The company created quite a line of lights recently (we were actually not aware of this until now). To us this seems a surprising move from a company that made its name making tripods and monopods and moved into lenses, the appeal of the overly crowded lighting market seems unclear but we are sure they know what they are doing based on the success of their lens line recently.
The new lights are fairly compact Blaze series COB LEDs with 150W and 300W variants in both daylight and bi-color options and are already on sale.

Godox KNOWLED F200Bi, F400Bi, & F600Bi Flexible Panel Lights
Godox was also very active recently announcing an entirely new line of high power mat/fabric flexible light panels including the F200Bi, F400Bi, & F600Bi lights. It has been a long time since we had a chance to review a flexible light here on LensVid and it is intriguing to know if this segment has evolved as much as the COB segment of the market has done over the past few years.
The new lights which come in different sizes (and shapes) should be available for purchase later this year.

Godox Bulb C7R C10R RGBWW
Godox also introduced recently two new remote-controlled, battery-powered high CRI RGBWW bulbs. The C7R (10W) and the C10R (12W) units. These are fairly similar to what Aputure released a few years back but seem to have more control from the light itself and a few interesting accessories like this magnetic bulb mount. It also has a similar optional 8-bulb case/charger for the bulbs just like Aputure.
Pricing seems to be a little lower compared to the Aputure bulbs.
