During IBC 2024 we stopped by the Orca Bags booth to check out some of the company’s new products and saw a fast-connecting magnetic accessory for boom pole operators as well as several new large camera and gear bags.
OR-117 Boom Pole magnetic holder
The first product that we saw in the Orca booth was a new boom pole magnetic holder (code name OR-117). This is a deceptively simple collar-like unit that hooks up to any boom pole with a velcro and uses a magnet to connect to a special magnetic connector that attaches to a harness strap, light stand, or other device.
The unit is made out of neoprene soft padded material with antifriction internal fabric and can be attached directly (or 180 degrees upside-down). The unit has a special magnetic “Fidlock” locking system buckle that can be released only when the user pulls the ”Fidlock” tab.
The OR-117 sells for around $70.

Orca new Bags
ORCA OR 15 and the OR-518—These two new large-capacity trolly bags are fairly similar but designed for different users with changes to the internal division of the bags. The OR 15 is designed for large-size video cameras fully rigged, while the OR 518 is designed for mirrorless cameras, and it has a ton of dividers for any possible configuration you might want.
Both bags have some interesting features including a USB connection on the outside that a user can use to power or charge a phone (using a power bank placed inside the bag), they both have a back system with straps that allow them to be carried upstairs in a more convenient way.
Both bags have large mesh pockets on the inside of the cover as well as a place for a large laptop. Both have a trolly handle and a side handle, a front extra pocket, and a place to secure a tripod on the side.
You can find more info on the OR 15 here and the OR 518 here.

ORCA OR-513 and the OR-64 – Two other bags that Orca showed us at their booth are the ORCA OR-513 – a medium-sized version of the OR-15 for video cameras and an interesting trolly bag for lights – ORCA OR-64.
