Everything You Need to Know About the New Photoshop CC 2014

Adobe announced today a major update to its popular Photoshop software entitled Photoshop 2014 (a new version of the existing Photoshop CC). This new version includes a long list of changes and improvements – some of them ones which users have been waiting for, for many months now (including finally support for ultra high definition displays for Windows users).

The extensive video above by Julieanne Kost from Adobe goes over (briefly) many of the major updates included in the new Photoshop 2014.

We were particularly intrigued to see if the new HiDPI feature for windows works – and it (finally!) does but you need to do a few things. First – be sure that you use the Photoshop CC 2014 version and not the old Photoshop CC (there is a new icon and you will see a new splash intro image when you open the software). Go into Preferences > Experimental Features and mark Scale UI 200% for High-density displays (if you have a touch screen mark the touch option as well. Restart the software and you should be able to see the menus and icons clearly (instead of those tiny tiny ones which you could not read before on 4K displays).
