Aputure VS-2 FineHD Monitor Review

On this video our colleague, Photographer Curtis Judd takes a look at the new 7-inch Aputure VS-2 FineHD Monitor.

Full HD field monitors are typically quite expensive. Aputure decided to come up with a relatively inexpensive yet fully-featured solution at a pretty reasonable cost that might very well interest many videographers on a budget.

The Aputure VS-2 FineHD monitor offers 1900 over 1200 (just a bit taller than FHD resolution – allowing for some menus) it has focus peaking, audio monitoring, false colors, live histogram, and much more.

The build quality is decent although the monitor is made out of plastic, it can be powered via an NP Sony style battery and comes with a hood (which is really cool) as well as a small arm (how thoughtful).

The screen isn’t on sale on Amazon/B&H just yet but the pricing should be under $300 which is a great price for a 7″ FHD (plus) screen with this list of features. You can find out more on Aputure’s website and we are hoping to test it ourselves later this year.
