Chris Niccolls from from the Camera Store in Canada had a chance to take the 2 new Canon advanced entry level DSLRs – the Rebel T6i & T6S (750D & 760D) for a spin and came back with some interesting conclusions.
From the video it seems that while the two new Rebels do offer some progress compared to their previous models (something that we didn’t quite see since the 550D), with the current crowded entry level camera market (with Nikon and Sony especially), Canon might not have innovated enough to make these two cameras really stand out.
We can’t mention the Rebel T6i & T6S without talking about the recently published issue with some of these camera’s sensors. According to LensRentals “What looked like a pattern of dust on the sensor turned out to be defects within the layers of glass on top of the chip”. This was observed in about 6 out of 20 cameras that they received from Canon – so far we don’t know of any official Canon response to this claim or how wide-spread this issue might be.
