Ken Browar and Deborah Ory: NYC Dance Project

On this beautifully made (Adorma) video, we go behind the scenes with photographer couple Ken Browar and Deborah Ory and look at their special NYC Dance Project. NYC Dance Project.

Brooklyn based photographer couple Ken Browar and Deborah Ory have two teenage ballet students at home and so it was not a coincidence that they took upon themselves to start shooting ballet dancers in what became a truly magnificent project which will soon be released as a book entitled “The Art of Movement” (which will include feature over 70 dancers and choreographers). NYC Dance Project was also  featured in many magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, Italian Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue and Glamour.

Each shoot is prepared like a little dance production, with attention to every detail including movement, lighting and the feeling each dancer shares in each photo. The video featurs dancers Miriam Miller (New York City Ballet), Yannick Lebrun (Alvin Ailey) and Liudmila Konovalova (Vienna State Ballet).
