Thomas Peschak: Photographing Our Seas – Marine Birds and Conservation

On this short but inspiring National Geographic video, German born photographer Thomas Peschak looks, from a photographic perspective, on the biodiversity in south Africa’s marine reserves.

Many nature photographers look at topics such as the importance of biodiversity and conservation of animal and plant species. However on this short video Peschak talks about another important aspect which is in many cases  disregarded when talking about conservation and that is the needs of local communities which need to be meet in order to keep the reserves thriving.

Just like Peschak’s story, we have covered dozens of talented National Geographic photographers in the past who told their stories on video looking at some of the most remote places on earth and some of the most personal and heart-warming human stories as well many who dedicate their lives to nature and preserving wildlife across the globe.
