The Towers of the Ennedi are located on a plateau in the North-East of Chad (south of Libya in Africa if you happened to skip you geography lessons). The towers are located full four day off road drive across the deserts of Chad and are filled with amazing fingers of rock, bottle-shaped formations and arches.
About a year ago a team of professional climbers including Mark Synnott, Alex Honnold and James Pearson traveled to this remote location with photographer (and climber) Jimmy Chin who created this beautiful video from a place very few of us will ever reach. You can see more of Chin’s images from the Towers of the Ennedi project on his website.

We have recently published a talk Chin gave for National Geographic about a different project he did capturing the amazing climbing sub culture around Yosemite back in 2011.
