Von Wong – Photography with Meaning

One of our favourite photographers and colleague Benjamin Von Wong recently published an interesting lecture where he explains the road he took since he started as a photographer and what what led him to create more socially involved projects in recent years.

Many of us would have wished nothing more than to get paid to do what we love every day. However for some true artists like Von Wong there always needs to be a bigger goal, a meaning – simply getting paid to shoot amazing projects was nice but something was missing.

It takes a great deal of courage to move out of your comfort zone – where you are getting paid and do what you do best and do something which you believe in but you know that will likely not allow you to earn a living. Von Wong seems to have this type of courage and he has already done quite a few socially and environmentally important projects in the past and so he decided to spend an entire year looking for these types of projects exclusively – we can only tip our hats to the guy.

If you have or know of a socially important project that you think that Von Wong might by interested in – give him a shout.
