This beautiful and inspiring video was made by French photographer Alex Strohl whose pictures appeared in some of the leading magazines worldwide after traveling to some of the most remote locations in the world searching for the ultimate shot.
Strohl was born in Spain but lived much of his life in France (today he resides in Montana). In this video, he talks (and tries to show) both the magnificent side of being an adventure photographer as well as the more difficult, sometimes almost impossible life of the professional traveling photographer.
Behind all these beautiful images you see on National Geographic and many other websites, TV-shows, and magazines are real stories of photographers who had to travel thousands of miles, in many cases in extreme conditions and endure great personal risk to capture an image or a piece of video footage.
Choosing this lifestyle might be something that can look sensible when your in your 20’s but moving to your 30’s and 40’s, especially if you have a family, this becomes more and more difficult, not just physically but emotionally as well.
We have covered many extraordinary outdoor/adventure photographers here on the site – you can check out a few great ones – on this link. Of course, as always, you can watch more videos of interesting photographers on our photographer section here on LensVid.
