Siker Actpro Tripod (IBC 2023) Mobile flexability

The first product that we encountered during IBC 2023 was the Siker Actpro. This unit is a mobile tripod (on wheels) that can change angles and allow the user to quickly and easily (using a foot pedal) fix the camera at any height and angle.

Siker Actpro

If you never heard about Siker we can’t blame you. The company was founded in 2019 and specializes in tripods and heads as well as dolly tracks and more. During IBC 2023 it showed for the first time two new products that it has been developing. The first was a special slider similar in principle to the 9. Solutions C-Pan Arm that we covered here last year

The second product and the one we have covered in the video above is called Actpro. The concept is similar to some level to the Edelkrone StandPLUS (announced back in February) which is a rolling tripod with a large foot pedal that can both its height and angle.

From our short test in IBC the unit feels smooth and fairly stable (we would probably add larger wheels and the option to put in wehighs on each leg for extra stability and we suggested that to Sikar).

The big advantage of the Actpro in our opinion is the ability to change the angle very quickly but even more easily change the height with a simple press of the leg. Shooting top-down is also very easy and you can also get an extension that will allow the user to shoot top-down without being too close to the side of your subject (over a large table for example).

Carrying capacity depends on how you use the unit. For most uses, you can carry up to around 4KG/9lbs but if you are very front heavy this might go down to around 3KG and even 2KG if you are using the extension rod.
