Edelkrone StandPLUS 2023 – Updated Flexaible Studio Stand The return of the flexaible studio stand

Earlier today edelkrone introduced its newest revision of the StandPLUS, an indoor or flat-surface stand designed for cameras lights, and even phones which can take almost any shape and fold for easy carry.

StandPLUS – Smart stuido stand

Back in 2016, edelkrone introduced the first generation of the StandPLUS with large wheels and a very similar design. The new version seems to have a few small changes including small vibration-dampening wheels but the basic functionality looks very similar to the original model (we are still trying to find out what changes were introduced and we shall update this article if we get more information).

The new version supports cameras, lights, and other gear up to 2.72kg or 6lbs, and in many respects, you can think of it as a giant version of the company’s flextilt head which can stand on the ground on its own and be moved around. The unit is heavy at around 12.7 lbs (5.8 kg) which is important if you want the unit to be stable enough.

The design is based on an ergonomic handle that allows the user to open and fold the unit but also control its height ranging from a minimum of 28.1 inches (71.6 cm) to a maximum of 64 inches (162.6 cm).

The StandPLUS (both the original and the new version were designed for studio shooters and those who value the ability to change the height and angle of a shot very quickly (as food and product photographers we can certainly appreciate these features). The ability to put a camera (or lights) above your subject for a quick top-down shot is another important selling point (granted that the unit is stable enough to not tip forward).
