Exposure Compensation and Spot Metering: a Tutorial

On this video photographer Tony Northrup shares a few tips on using exposure compensation and spot metering. Although Northrup uses a Canon camera his tips apply for the most part to cameras from other manufacturers as well.

A lot of what Northrup talks about on this video is based on reading the camera histogram. If you are unfamiliar with how to read a histogram we highly recommend that you watch: How to Read an Image Histogram which should help you get a better understanding of how this important graph works.
