On this video by our colleague photographer and videographer Curtis Judd, we look at a new Aputure Deity shotgun microphone.
The Deity is probably the first pro-grade shotgun microphone for Aputure but from this review it seems that Aputure actually did a very good job. Keep in mind that the mic doesn’t have a battery so you will need to supply Phantom power to it through the XLR connection.
You can hear some sound samples in the video from Judd and from the looks of it the S/N ratio is very good.
All in all for around $360 (without a shock mount mind you) this looks like a very nice pro level shotgun mic.
