Turkish manufacturer Edelkrone announced earlier this week a really interesting addition to it’s SliderONE micro slider which turns the unit into a motorized super compact slider that you can take with you anywhere.
Lat year Edelkrone introduced the tiny SliderONE – a 15 cm it super compact slider. From our experience there is a real need for such a small slider – we seldom use long slides (which are typically boring) for products, food and even landscape and we find even the short 60cm sliders to be way to long and heavy to carry with us most of the time.
This is where the SliderONE comes into play – it is small enough that you can carry it in your bag at all times but until now it was only manual (and moving such a small slider smoothly and evenly is hard (and this was also the impression of people who tested the slider). However the new Motion Module can change all of this by making the process of using the slider automatic (using a simple app – much like the Syrp Genie mini.
To power the Motion you will need a Canon LP-E6 battery (which isn’t supplied with the unit) and as far as we can understand it is only compatible with iOS (ver. 9 or later at the moment – we are checking with Edelkrone about Android compatibility).
The SliderONE also works well with Edelkrone’s FlexTilt Head (which we looked at here before). It can carry up to 9kg (20lbs) of gear (and so is the Motion Module) which is a lot of weight for such a tiny unit.
The Edelkrone SliderONE sells for just under $200 online and the Motion Module will sell for $370.
