Joel Sartore: Photographing 12,000 Animals

On this short National Geographic video, photographer Joel Sartore who specializes in documenting endangered species, gives a glimpse at his complex work which includes photographing some pretty interesting animals.

Sartore, is on a mission to create portraits of the world’s 12,000 captive species before they disappear and this video is just a quick example of this life project that he has taken upon himself to achieve.

This isn’t the first time we take a look at Sartore’s work. About two years ago we published a longer National Geographic video on Sartore called Saving the Arc where he talked about the difficulty of bringing new stories and images of animals to a world which have already seen everything.
